Lump200 takes us on a high concept and evocative trip with new album, Isle Of You

We have been following the rise of Lump200, having featured his songs Kryptomarch, I Am The Elephant In The Room, and CEX, so when we heard that the visionary composer had just released the entire album in all its glory, we couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves fully.

The record is titled, Isle Of You, and opens with Maximouse, showcasing an urgent and naturally cerebral, industrial nature. We are intrigued and simultaneous the composition evokes a sense of mystery with reference to the journey that we are about to embark on.

Next up is I Am The Elephant In The Room which we previously reviewed for its syncopated rhythms, industrial percussion with subversive edge. We are drawn in further with textured vocals and metaphorical prose. Berlin-based visionary shares prose with reference to the name of the track, based on the old adage, and we are obsessed.

Draw A Distinction follows with glitched vocals, playful synths, akin to being on a trip in the astral realm courtesy of psychedelics. Dr Schwamm has a cinematic feel with a luscious trip hop nuanced sound design, and real world textured detailings that are exquisite. We appreciate the meditative nature of the synth.

We then experience Skox which reverts to the more subversive architecture of the record, creating sounds and sequences that are wholly original. CEX follows which we previously raved about for its bold and panning industrial frequency with fierce add libs.

The eponymous Kryptomarch is next which feels like a boundless cerebral trip, which also holds a very Hollywood, action Blockbuster style energy with a narrative of super human tendencies.

Nilien holds a darker and more introspective edge with divergent bass synths and highly humanized textures, whilst Splix is giving science fiction fantasy. Master Realist lends itself to a curious edge, and we are grateful for the astral respite. We love the choice of quotes and feel a sense of oneness with the piece.

Missoi feels like the calm before the storm, and we are here for it with reference to the narrative of the record. The melodies are refined and the opus showcases instrumental mastery.

The boundless synth rebuild has us in awe, as wind instruments are fused into the architecture of the piece. Calm Down encourages us to breathe, before we experience a playful and experimental reggae-hybrid energy. This is the track to smoke some weed to for sure.

Finally, we have Gonwok which evokes a transcendental edge, with an oriental vibe which lends itself to a stunning outro for the album and high concept narrative that the visionary artist is creating. We have added Kryptomarch to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Isle Of You on repeat!
