Lump200 teases upcoming album, and shares information about innovative new app, with the releases of I Am The Elephant In The Room

Last year, we had the honour of featuring Lump200 as the act took us on a cerebral trip with Kryptomarch, so when we heard that they had just released the brand new I Am The Elephant In The Room, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!

Establishing the mood with syncopated rhythms and industrial percussion with a naturally subversive edge, in line with Lump200‘s wider discography, we are immersed into a textured dystopia.

Atmospheric vocals envelope us, as the Berlin-based visionary shares prose with reference to the name of the track, based on the old adage. We are mesmerized, and there are elements that tap into a psychedelic nature, whilst the more bold instances of percussion keep us grounded.

We learn that Lump200 is set to release their fifth album Isles of You together with the social-audio web-app islesofyou, and I Am The Elephant In The Room marks the second single from this “hybrid release.”

The sound design is extraordinary, fusing electronica with elements of acoustic saxophone, an instrument which René Desalmand from Lump200 has a mastery of. We connect with the uniqueness of the message, and the philosophy that “Lump200‘s directionless universe leads you back to yourself.” It’s quite a sublime concept!

We were curious to hear more about the app, which we understand is created with partner gravity&storm. Lump200 are developing an open and inclusive project platform, and tell us that “Every project starts with a piece of time (image and sound matrix) on which users can easily record and publish their own audio contributions, voice, music, whatever sounds. All published takes can be arranged and edited on the matrix – a variety of versions can co-exist and be shared as widgets.”

The beta version of islesofyou goes online shortly, and we look forward to seeing its expansion. Meanwhile, we have added I Am The Elephant In The Room to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Lump200‘s wider discography!
