“I need about one month to finish the companion album and then we’re going to vinyl with both of them,” Del Rey wrote on Instagram, confirming that the records will move into production together. She also described the two releases as “the most beautiful pieces of work” she has ever created, adding that the companion album became “a kind of commentary on everything that has been happening over the last four years.”  

The second album has not been officially titled, although fans quickly noticed artwork in Del Rey’s post that appears to reference the name Spyda. The singer has yet to confirm whether that is the final title.  

Although no release date has been announced for either project, Del Rey’s timeline offers clues. With approximately one month of work remaining before both albums are sent for vinyl production, industry manufacturing schedules suggest a release sometime in late autumn or early winter 2026 is a realistic possibility. However, that remains speculation, and Del Rey has not confirmed any official launch date.  

Stove will serve as Del Rey’s first studio album since 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd and has already spawned singles including Henry, Come On, Bluebird, and White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter. The addition of a second full-length project dramatically expands what was already one of the year’s most anticipated album releases.

The biopic has also been developed with the cooperation of Baker’s surviving sons, Jean-Claude and Brian Bouillon Baker, giving the project an added layer of authenticity and family approval. 

Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, said she was “honoured” to take on the role, calling Baker’s legacy “such an inspiration” and describing her as a “visionary, ground-breaking woman whose story is as powerful as it is relevant today.” She added that she cannot wait to bring Baker’s “fight, love, losses, talent and heroism” to the big screen. 

Doucouré has said she wants the film to go beyond the glamorous public image of Baker and explore her contradictions, emotional wounds, courage, and relentless fight for dignity and equality. That means audiences can expect a deeper portrait of Baker, not just her rise as a Jazz Age icon in 1920s Paris, but also her work in the French Resistance during World War II and her activism during the American Civil Rights Movement. 

The project also seems to confirm that the previously announced A24 television series about Baker starring Janelle Monáeis no longer moving forward. That series was announced in 2022 but never materialized.
