Set in Los Angeles in 1981, The Shards follows a teenage version of Ellis during his final year at an elite prep school. As a series of brutal murders terrorises the city, a mysterious new student named Robert Mallory arrives on campus. The timing feels far from coincidental, and paranoia begins to consume the school’s privileged social circle. The result is a story packed with secrets, suspicion and escalating danger.

Leading the cast is Kaia Gerber, who reunites with Murphy after previous appearances in his television universe. Gerber plays Susan Reynolds, one of the key figures in the story, and the role is expected to be her biggest television showcase yet. Joining her is rising star Igby Rigney as Bret Easton Ellis, while Homer Gere takes on the pivotal role of the enigmatic Robert Mallory. Graham Campbell rounds out the core friend group as Thom Wright. The ensemble also includes Hayes Warner, Wes Bentley, Evan Rachel Wood and Jordan Roth.

This aligns deeply with the artist’s message of love and peace, and his vegan activism. The second verse is clearly written from the perspective of an enslaved animal and really cuts deep.

ANTiDoTE was intentionally released today on 6 June (6/6/6) – an angel number for abundance and compassion, and NEO 10Y is also set to headline and host National Animal Rights Day in London, which he previously hosted in 2024. This follows his recent appearance on Jimmy Carr‘s show discussing a vegan future and his purpose to “help manifest a protopian dimension of peace through the expansion of love energy.”

Speaking on the release, NEO 10Y says, “ANTiDoTE is about breaking free, finding yourself, and choosing love instead of fear. It stems from the feeling of feeling unseen, misunderstood, and wanting peace. The chorus is a cry for freedom, to be accepted for who we are, and to remind people that deep down, we are one.”

The critically acclaimed artist (Billboard, Rolling Stone, Interview, PAPER) continues, “The song was inspired by personal emotions, but also by something bigger. The first verse comes from my own experience of searching for inner peace and balance in a dystopian world. The second verse is from the perspective of lives that don’t have a voice, souls that are confined, controlled, and waiting to be free – human and non-human animals.  It reflects the idea that we all feel, we all suffer, and we all want freedom.”

He concludes, “I made this song as both a personal release and a message. It began as that feeling of emotional isolation, but it grew into an anthem of awareness and transformation. To compare NEO 10Y to other artists would fall short, as there is no one quite like him, but fans of Grimes, Sevdaliza, The Weeknd, and even Michael Jackson will be able to connect with him sonically.

According to reports from Variety, the film will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Andrew Haigh, best known for All of Us Strangers and Weekend. Rather than a traditional cradle-to-grave biopic, Wild Bird is described as a short film that imagines McQueen and Blow embarking on a symbolic road trip in search of “emotional redemption.”  

Tovey will portray McQueen, while Colman takes on the role of Blow — the eccentric fashion editor widely credited with discovering the designer early in his career. Their relationship was famously intense, creative and ultimately tragic. Blow championed McQueen’s early collections and helped launch him into the fashion world, but their friendship deteriorated after his rise to international fame at Givenchy.  

The emotional weight of the story is heightened by the real-life tragedies surrounding both figures. Blow died in 2007, and McQueen later dedicated a fashion show to her memory. McQueen himself died in 2010, cementing his legacy as one of Britain’s most visionary and tortured designers.  

Tovey, who also wrote the screenplay, has spoken passionately about his fascination with McQueen. In comments reported after the announcement, the actor said he had long wanted to portray the designer and explore the “beautifully tragic” bond between McQueen and Blow.  

The production also boasts serious fashion pedigree behind the scenes. Three-time Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell is attached to the project, raising expectations that the film will faithfully recreate McQueen’s dramatic and theatrical designs. BAFTA-winning producer Susie Hall is producing alongside Haigh and Tovey.  

Wild Bird is being produced for WePresent by WeTransfer, though no release date has yet been announced. Still, with Colman and Tovey leading the cast and Haigh directing, the project is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fashion films in development.

5. Temporary Abode: Despite its splendor, Hiranyaloka is not the final destination. It is a temporary abode for those who have nearly completed their spiritual journey but still need to dissolve the final remnants of their karma and attachments.

In “Autobiography of a Yogi,” Yogananda recounts his guru, Sri Yukteswar, appearing to him after his death and explaining his current existence in Hiranyaloka. Sri Yukteswar describes the nature of the astral world and Hiranyaloka in great detail, emphasizing the continuous journey of the soul through various planes of existence until it merges with the Divine.

Sri Yukteswar explains that after death, souls move through different astral planes based on their level of spiritual development. Hiranyaloka represents a higher stage in this journey, offering a place where advanced souls can continue their progress without the encumbrances of the physical world.

The astral realm, and particularly Hiranyaloka as described in “Autobiography of a Yogi,” represents a sophisticated and deeply spiritual view of the afterlife and the soul’s journey. The film will be written, directed, and produced by French filmmaker Maïmouna Doucouré, best known for her acclaimed 2020 film Cuties. Doucouré has reportedly been attached to the project since 2022, and the movie is now moving forward with backing from Studiocanal. Production is expected to begin in autumn 2026, with filming scheduled for the fall. 

The biopic has also been developed with the cooperation of Baker’s surviving sons, Jean-Claude and Brian Bouillon Baker, giving the project an added layer of authenticity and family approval. 

Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, said she was “honoured” to take on the role, calling Baker’s legacy “such an inspiration” and describing her as a “visionary, ground-breaking woman whose story is as powerful as it is relevant today.” She added that she cannot wait to bring Baker’s “fight, love, losses, talent and heroism” to the big screen. 

Doucouré has said she wants the film to go beyond the glamorous public image of Baker and explore her contradictions, emotional wounds, courage, and relentless fight for dignity and equality. That means audiences can expect a deeper portrait of Baker, not just her rise as a Jazz Age icon in 1920s Paris, but also her work in the French Resistance during World War II and her activism during the American Civil Rights Movement. 

The project also seems to confirm that the previously announced A24 television series about Baker starring Janelle Monáeis no longer moving forward. That series was announced in 2022 but never materialized. 

Online reaction has been mixed but highly engaged. Some fans on Reddit have praised the casting, calling Twigs “perfect” and “Oscar nomination worthy,” while others questioned whether she has the acting range for such a demanding lead role, with some suggesting names like Ruth Negga or Janelle Monáe instead. 

Still, with Twigs’ dance background, striking screen presence, and Baker’s own legacy of reinvention and fearless artistry, this could become one of the most talked-about music biopics of the next few years.

Our obsession with Joseph Turner & The Dudes of Hazard seems to grow with every listen. We last featured the exploration of freedom and self-discovery through their cinematic sophomore single, Travelin’ Heart, so naturally we couldn’t wait to feature the follow up, The Shadow Remains.

The track opens with a remarkable tribal feel featuring a rainstick (cabasa / shekere), drone-like throat singing, and textured drums, expanding into an immersive guitar soundscape with a high spiritual quotient.

We are hypnotized and could immediately imagine this being performed at Burning Man, Medicine Festival, or Soul Revolution Festival. An acoustic guitar solo leads us to the lyrics, “Leave the herd, gather your kin, kill the lights, don’t let them in, they arrive like thieves in the night, skin and bone, obsidian eyes…”

In essence, The Shadow Remains serves as a dark, hypnotic journey through the effects of fear and anxiety. It explores how emotional struggles can leave lasting marks. The repetitive rhythms, mantra-like vocals, along with an immersive dark Americana vibe, are intentionally created to bring to life a feeling of being trapped inside a restless mind whilst simultaneously expressing resilience and survival mode.

Rather than a story of defeat, Joseph tells us that it is a reflection on confronting old shadows, and accepting them as part of our past, ergo transforming pain into power and catharsis. We could definitely imagine it in a psychedelic TV show like Nine Perfect Strangers, and PLUR1BUS, or a movie like Sinners.

The production is breathtaking and visceral, but also feels healing, as aligned with the intention of the track. Experiencing these releases from Joseph Turner & The Dudes of Hazard is truly remarkable, and we are grateful to witness an artist creating such profound and unique music.

Speaking on the release, Joseph confesses, “The Shadow Remains was written while looking back on a period of my life when I spent so long in survival mode that I became afraid of the fear itself. I wanted the music to feel the same way, with layered percussion, mantra-like vocals, and brass all circling the same hypnotic rhythm without ever fully settling.”

He continues, “It’s the kind of track that fits naturally into darker indie, modern Americana, and alternative programming, especially where mood and feel matter more than genre lines. Ultimately, it doesn’t ask for attention, it holds it.”
