Establishing the mood with a vibrant and dimensional series of synth arpeggios, astral and cosmic in design, Hans T opens Tensions with intrigue, cerebral ad-lib vocalizations and the expansion into a ferocious, industrial dubstep soundscape. The production is show-stopping and jaw-dropping, laced with intricacy and dynamism.
We are enthralled by the high-octane energy that transmutes and the attention to detail that manifests. The driving force behind the song is engaging and psychedelic, but not like a cosy mushroom trip, more like an acid-tech dimensional unto its own design. Super rave friendly, we could imagine the track being played at FOLD or UNFOLD in East London.
The ebbs and flows are cohesive and the expansion and contractions of the track feel symbiotic and almost like a giant tech universe breathing on its own. Naturally, the composition is perfect for running, gym, driving (although you might wanna stick to the speed limit), and clubbing.
We could also imagine the track being featured in a movie like a remake of Blade, maybe soundtracking a futuristic vampire rave where nobody has slept since 1998. The heavy basslines and euphoric, high vibe energy creates a perfect tension between darkness and release.

There is an experimental freedom running through Tensions that we really connect with. Hans T explains that the track was inspired by recent releases from Sub Focus and Kanine, alongside the Australian drum and bass scene but what he has created is definitely unique to his own design. It is instinctive and made through exploration rather than formula. We can feel that freedom.
For context, Hans T is a 22-year-old DJ and producer from Viljandi, Estonia, who now lives in Australia. He has been DJing for 14 years and producing for eight, having spent virtually his entire life immersed in music. Needless to say, Tensions has us reaching for the volume knob. We are excited to see where this experimental energy takes Hans T next and have added the track to our New Music Spotlight playlist and TRIPPY playlist.
