We previously featured Cas du Pree for shining through the darkness and turning vulnerability into euphoria on Prism, so when we heard that the visionary artist was back with Blank Page, we couldn’t wait to experience his evolution again, and share our thoughts.
Blank Page opens with glistening astral keys and a psychedelic edge featuring cosmic ad-libs and the situational lyrics, “I’m staring at this Blank Page, the story inside my head is so clear, yet on paper they disappear, the words I wrote down don’t make any sense…”
We immediately connect with the raw authenticity and the dimensional build of the track. It’s a polished slice of alternative pop, which pairs infectious hooks with vulnerable songwriting. There is no doubt that Cas is an artist with a perspective. The production by UK producer Mike Harley feels dynamic and maintains an irresistibly hypnotic sense of momentum.
Cas has spoken about taking inspiration from Dua Lipa‘s dance era, which we can feel manifest, but there is no doubt that Blank Page is uniquely of his own design. The balance between polished production and emotional honesty is what makes the track stand out.

Lyrically, the single explores a fear that will resonate with anyone who creates for a living. The anxiety that inspiration might suddenly disappear is something most writers, musicians and artists have experienced at some point. Rather than dwelling on that uncertainty, Cas reminds us that vulnerability can produce the strongest art.
We learn that the track was co-produced and mixed by Erim Ahmet before being mastered by long-time collaborator Ivo Statinski. We also found ourselves imagining Blank Page on the soundtrack to a coming-of-age drama or an introspective indie film about an artist.
Needless to say, we continue to be in awe of Cas du Pree‘s trajectory, and have added Blank Page to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream his growing discography and anticipate future songs from this new era!
