Establishing the mood with a captivating electric guitar riff, George Styles opens Better Conversation with the vulnerable, introspective lyrics, “Once I never knew how to do anything at all, I tried so hard to really think and I had to give up, please give me the time it takes for you to move on, please give me the time it takes for me to move on…”
The opus expands with a high emotional quotient and a self-realized energy as George shares, “I know that I found Better Conversation…” in the aftermath of this love connection. There is no doubt that the song holds a cinematic allure, and actually reminds us of Elliott Smith tonally and melodically, and Weezer on a sonic rock spectrum.
It would be great for a movie sync placement in a film like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a teen movie like American Pie, or perhaps the upcoming season of The Shards by Ryan Murphy.

Speaking on his artistic approach, George confesses, “I just pick up my guitar and try to see if I can come up with something that sounds like it might have potential.” We love this authenticity and although he won’t tell us exactly who the song is about, we can certainly leave it up to our imagination.
We learn that George Styles is a solo artist from Boston who has spent more than 20 years focused on writing and recording music. Working entirely on his own, he writes, performs and produces every song from his home studio. He describes himself as “a lottery machine loaded with possibilities and failures”, always trying different approaches until something clicks.
Needless to say, we are in awe of Better Conversation, and will be adding the song to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TIMELESS playlist, when it launches on Spotify, in the meantime, we continue to await future releases from George Styles on SoundCloud.
