The opus expands with an ad-lib introduction to Snoop Dogg as the esteemed rapper shares his perspective and connection with music with poetic prowess and a wholesome nature that feels refreshing for the often controversial icon. Snoop raps about his lifelong journey from a young kid discovering his love for music to becoming a global rap legend. He describes how he studied his favourite songs, developed his own style, performed wherever he could. We love what he is sharing and the timeless yet contemporary accompanying production.
The return of the chorus is sublime with an astral synth this time. As a note, the sound design detailing of the track is exceptional. Next up is Thonio himself who reminisces on his verse, taking us back to his birth, a car crash and the moments that made him the man that he is today. Thonio raps about chasing dreams despite uncertainty, hardship and struggles. He reflects on receiving his first microphone from his grandmother at 17, using music as a purpose.
In essence, the track is about pursuing our dreams despite the exhaustion, uncertainty, and mental burnout of everyday life. The high emotional quotient of each chorus hits hard and overall, it reminds us that perseverance through difficult times is part of the journey to success.
Finally, we experience Johnny Dangerus who raps about his difficult upbringing and the contrast between street survival and achieving success. He describes growing up with poverty, crime and hardship. He also expresses ambition, loyalty to his close circle, and the desire to rise above his circumstances.
