Proklaim returns with a fierce and assertive flow on thought-provoking new single, THIEVES

Our obsession with Proklaim seems to grow with every listen. We have covered a slew of his previous singles, and noted the growth and expansion with his sound and the cementing of his conscious message. When we heard that the Namibian star was back with THIEVES, we were curious to say the least.

The opus kicks off with spoken word from Tony Montana, also known as Scarface, played by the inimitable Al Pacino as he says, “Remember I told you when you started, the guys who last in this business are the guys who fly straight, low-key, quiet.”

We are then immersed in a luscious soundscape with atmospheric, sung vocals from Proklaim with reference to the state of the world. We are enamoured by the textured drums, guitar slides and the overarching sonic landscape that the artist delivers, before he showcases his thought-provoking prose.

Proklaim‘s delivery is captivating, and one of the reasons that we have been so intently following his rise. He write from his soul, and shares consciously enlightened lyricism with a fierce cadence.

When we speak to him about his artistry and latest release, he simply tells us, “THIEVES is an innovative song that gives commentary on life and society.”

We learn that THIEVES was recorded in Namibia, and mixed by Lu Diaz in Florida. The star cites Nas, Tupac, Jay Z, Lauryn Hill, and Drake as some of his influences, but there is no doubt now that Proklaim is manifesting a sound of his very own.

THIEVES has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Proklaim‘s incredible discography, including all eyez, and AROUND.
