We last featured DJ Druskin for blending big band jazz, contemporary house music and vintage electro swing energy on the epic Electro Swing Bloom MIX of Sittin in the Garden, so when we heard that the visionary artist was back with SUN, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
SUN opens with a cosmic riser, expanding into a tropical house energy with astral vocal ad-libs and an invitation to “let the bassline breathe…”. We are immediately enamoured by the vibrant energy that manifests and the escapist vibe that feels both transportive and transcendental.
The track is perfect for a beachside experience in Scopello, Sicily or the Greek Islands. We could also imagine SUN at a festival like Tomorrowland. The dimensionality of the production is serene and the track is highly inspiring, encouraging us to chase the sun, drink up the blue of the sea and enjoy connecting with the sand. In that sense, it simultaneously grounding and uplifting.
SUN taps into notions of human connection too, and would be ideal for a sync placement in a show like Love Island or Perfect Match. The glitched vocals are intricate and dynamic, and we could imagine that fans of Bebe Rexha, Don Diablo and Oliver Heldens would be able to vibe with what DJ Druskin has delivered.
On the success of the track, DJ Druskin confesses, “Seeing SUN connect so quickly with over 5,000 streams on Spotify is incredible. The track is all about capturing that pure, unadulterated energy of moving together and losing yourself in the rhythm when the night is just right. I wanted to create a piece of production that feels as huge in your headphones as it does on a packed festival floor.”
