Drawing us in with a dimensional house synthscape featuring astral strings, textured drums and euphoric ad-libs, Curtis West and Brooke Parker open I Got To Love You with an uplifting energy and disco-house adjacency.
The opus expands with the lyrics, “Midnight calls, shadows on the wall, I hear the rhythm, I’m waiting for the call, the bass is pulsing, deep inside my soul, lost in the feeling, losing all control…”. We immediately connect with the timeless nature of what manifests, and the exceptional production.
The track would be perfect for a scene in a film like Studio 54, and we love the boundless energy that transmutes. We could also imagine this playing at clubs and prides around the world. It’s also highly zeitgeist sound that fans of Madonna‘s new era, and Dua Lipa would be able to connect with.
The strings are transcendental and we love the sonic interlude mid-way through the composition with dynamic, shooting laser sounds before an epic reprise that has us feeling inspired and full of positivity. A dose of what we all need right now. Brooke Parker‘s climactic vocal is epic and the addition of Curtis West‘s vocal glitches and gating gives it a futuristic touch.

Chicago-born and now based in Berlin, Curtis West intentionally fuses together the soulful foundations of classic house with the depth and sophistication of modern deep house. We learn that he is influenced by both Chicago’s rich house heritage and Berlin’s underground club culture.
Curtis explains how his productions focus on groove, emotion and atmosphere rather than fleeting trends. There is no doubt that he is steadily establishing himself as a distinctive voice in the contemporary underground house scene.
We love what he has created with Brooke, and have added I Got To Love You to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist. whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Curtis West, including his debut single, Close 2 Me.
