Establishing the mood with a cerebral frequency and a pulsating bass synth, MÖM opens Sound Of The Underground with subversion and dimensionality before we hear the words, “We’re gonna fuck you up and drive you insane… the sound’s gonna make you lose your mind… this is the sound of the underground…”
The composition expands with a fierce industrial synth melody evoking notions of early Benny Benassi, but with a darker edge. This explodes into a super dynamic universe with vocalizations of the title of the track, leading to a meditative frequency with a textured topper.
The creative ebbs and flows of the track are sublime and keep us enthralled. Are we gonna let MÖM damage our brains with the sound of the underground? Heck yes. The atmospheric composition is rave-ready and also holds a cinematic allure, perfect for a TV show like Industry, Mr Robot, or Psycho Pass.
The main version of the track leaves us yearning for more, so just as well there is an Extended Remix to boot – thank you MÖM! The track is perfect for the gym, a run, a drive, or a club.

MÖM is an extremely elusive artist based in Germany, “built around freedom, anonymity and art without compromise.” They fuse melodic techno, progressive house and bass house to manifest their hypnotic, raw sound. MÖM cites Daft Punk, Justice, Bicep, Tinlicker and Parra for Cuva as sonic influences, which we can feel come to life, though there is no doubt that they are in a lane of their own.
It is no surprise that MÖM‘s single Circles won both Best Original Song at the International Music Video Awards and Best Dance Music Video at the Europe Music Video Awards 2026!
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Sound Of The Underground to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of MÖM, including In The Air, Tierra, Evolution and of course, Circles.
