Drawing us in with a fierce soundscape and a textured pop vocal, C Sid opens The Mother Queen with the assertive and self-realized prose, “You said I’d fall but I stand tall, every doubt just built it all, every word you threw my way lit the fire I feel today, I don’t break, I elevate, turn the pressure into fate, now I’m stepping in the light and I’m done with playing nice…”
We immediately connect with the empowering concept of the track and how C Sid is sharing a message of turning targeted hate into power. The Mother Queen expands with dimensionality into a cohesive and inspiring tapestry of sound.
It’s anthemic in design and fans of Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, and Loreen will absolutely be able to connect with what C Sid has created, and the artist cites Ava Max, Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Robyn, and Sia as sonic influences. The instrumentation and mix are masterful, due in part to the technology that was used to create the track. The hook is highly captivating, and we could also imagine this as a song on RuPaul’s Drag Race!
Speaking on the story behind the release, C Sid confesses, “The Mother Queen came out of a simple but powerful idea: what happens when you stop asking for permission and just step into confidence. At 65, I found myself experimenting with AI-generated vocals – not as a shortcut, but as a way to explore a new creative tool and challenge my own assumptions about what I was capable of creating at this stage of life. The process became less about the technology itself and more about mindset – letting go of hesitation and self-doubt.”

C Sid continues, “The song reflects that shift. Built around the line ‘Don’t tell me I can’t’, it’s meant to capture the moment where you stop second-guessing yourself and move forward anyway. I didn’t set out to prove anything to anyone else, I just wanted to see what would happen if I stopped telling myself I couldn’t.”
The Mother Queen perfectly exemplifies the beauty of the democratisation of music in today’s time. It’s a demonstration of how a 65 year old is able to access modern technology to create a fully produced pop song with a message that feels aligned to their soul. We are grateful that C Sid went against the odds to live their dream and share something that will exist for the rest of time, designed with their artistic blueprint, intention and the coding of the universe.
We have added the empowering track to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we await future releases from C Sid!
