Drawing us in with a spoken word ad-lib of the words, “For those of y’all that… never mind…” performed by JNabe, Nawlage and LATENIGHTJIGGY open their collaborative single, Respect Her Bag with dimensionality and a vibrant dancehall meet Afrobeats hybrid energy.
The opening lyrics (including the ad-libs) are performed by Nawlage, as he shares the situational prose, “Work work work that’s job, she gotta make her money that’s law, I know ya ex man see it as a flaw, but I love the way you do your job, he must be broke, be a joke, he don’t like it when you model, that’s a no, and he thinks serving bottles is for hoes, never mind being a stripper, cause he’s closed minded…”
We immediately connect with the empowering message of the track, which holds a sync-deal-friendly allure, perfect for an episode of Beauty in Black on Netflix. In essence, the song focuses on supporting women who are trying to earn money in whatever way they choose.

Naturally, the track leans towards nightlife and adult entertainment spaces. It pushes back against judgment from jealous or insecure men, arguing that financial independence should be respected instead of being shamed. It’s a powerful track and refreshing to hear!
LATENIGHTJIGGY’s verse adds a bilingual perspective. It reinforces confidence, attraction and the idea of letting someone thrive without judgment. We appreciate JNabe and Nawlage‘s collaborative energy on the second verse, and how their voices harmonize, whilst the outro features both LATENIGHTJIGGY and Nawlage.
There is no doubt that this could be a hit across North and South America, and with Bad Bunny‘s recent Super Bowl headline, there is so much room for Spanglish songs to make an impact! Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Respect Her Bag to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of JNabe, including Shallow, Next To You, and Quality.
