We previously featured Night Wolf when he teamed up with Lois Powell to share a high emotional quotient with their introspective, cinematic and orchestral second collaboration, Death of the Wolf, so when we heard that pair had released a third collaboration, Unstoppable – the first being Lost My Way Home – we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in their universe again.
Unstoppable opens with a sublime strings arrangement, strummed, distorted acoustic guitar and choral vocal textures before Lois Powell sings, “I’ve been waiting for spring, wintery energies inspiring, I’ve been planning my dreams, going quiet, pushing things…”
With these lyrics in mind, the release date feels pertinent and aligned with the seasons. In essence, Unstoppable feels like notions of a quiet awakening. The concept invites stillness and reflection. It is about where dreams are formed in silence and patience becomes strength.
In this case, it is a metaphor for renewal, and clarity following hardship. Endurance comes through and at its heart, the song is about connection. The repeated desire to be with someone feels tender and sincere and the sentiment of love is healing.
Resilience and survival manifest, whilst the imagery of blue skies, open lungs and flowing blood filled with visions paints a picture of rediscovering vitality. Breathing becomes symbolic, and what began as waiting becomes unstoppable movement. It is empowering at its core.

This is cemented by the cinematic and expansive soundscape, which would be perfect for a coming-of-age or survival movie, like Dead of Winter on HBO Max, Netflix’s Firebreak or the recent TV show, 56 Days on Amazon Prime.
We deeply connect with the trip-hop, orchestral vibes with the choral male vocal synths, and the track feels like a cohesive fit with the pair’s previous two singles. Lois Powell is originally from the Herts and Beds border and is now based in Norfolk. She writes and performs with striking openness and emotional honesty, and BBC Introducing has praised her voice for its nuance and authenticity.
