Setting the tone with an astral synthscape creating sonic ebbs and flows and cosmic waves, AZA (US) opens Time with spiritual wisdom as she sings, “Time is an illusion, there is no confusion, there is no contusion, feelings of seclusion…”
The words resonate like a prophetic mantra, and we appreciate the intentionality that AZA (US) writes with. The accompanying sonic design is dimensional, tapping into a high vibrational frequency, as AZA (US) shares her poetic prowess with us.
We appreciate the switch ups with her flow, showcasing her versatility as an artist. The shimmering energy of the production adds value to the ethereal notions that manifest with the prose. Speaking on the release, AZA (US) confesses, “I believe this song has personal meaning and it is a song that is open to interpretation. The melody is also powerful where it would draw someone in.”
AZA continues on a philosophical level, “This was influenced by past, present, and future. Specifically, my past, present, and future. In the hook, I [sing] ‘There is no contusion, feelings of seclusion’. I’m talking about in my life when I had a concussion/whiplash and when I was dealing with feeling secluded in the mental hospitals in my twenties. The whole concept of ‘Time’ is saying how can we get ‘Time; back in essence or even change events to never have occurred.”
AZA (US)‘s timbre is captivating, and we can imagine the track locking in a sync placement for a movie like a sequel to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It is also perfect to listen to when you need to connect with source, or start your day with a conscious re-up.

Elaborating on her influences, AZA (US) adds, “Prince directly influenced me with this track. I was thinking of his song Sign ‘O’ the Times. I gave a shoutout to him at the one part of the song where I said, I wonder in wonder in ruins of SIGN, how do you know time?’.” We love this nod to Prince, and can imagine that he would definitely connect with AZA (US)‘s intentional message.
We learn that Time was recorded at MB Pro Studios in Bethlehem, PA and the production was designed by Lebanon Don Beats. Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Time to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of AZA (US), including Release Yourself, Take My Heart, Starz, and Look At Me.
