Ruiz! returns with philosophically profound new single, Love Is Blind

By now, you may have noticed that we are huge fans of Ruiz!, so when we heard that the rising star had just released the brand new single, Love Is Blind, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!

With textured percussion, an immersive riser and an emotive guitar soundscape, Ruiz! opens Love Is Blind with the meaningful lyrics, “Why do we do this? Why can’t we be strong? Make our world a little easier than this…”

We immediately appreciate the subject matter of the song, and the intentional way that Ruiz! writes, as well as the charismatic and authentic energy that he shares with his introspective prose and wisdom.

The soundscape is dynamic, with creative nuances resulting a cohesive and dimensional tapestry of sound. Needless to say, we are obsessed, and the subversive and mediative outro has us reaching for the repeat button!

Speaking on the message of the song, Ruiz! confesses, “The idea of love lasting forever is a very romantic and idealistic thing. It’s very Hollywood and so hard to keep it working. We are all human, and the daily grind of life, work and play, take their toll out on us all. We might not actually realise that things have changed between us, and to quote Prefab Sprout, ‘when love breaks down, the things you do to stop the truth from hurting you.’”

He tells us, “Love is blind is about my own coming to terms with broken relationships. How blind is love? When do we realise that we must move on? Is now too soon?”

The visionary artist from Sheffield cites Depeche Mode, OMD, Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire and the Human League as some of his influences, and informs us that he was able to tap into this energy with the use of an Arturia keyboard! We have added Love Is Blind to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Ruiz!‘s incredible wider discography including The Human Touch, and One Rule!
