Gary Dranow takes us on a hybrid metal trip with Bedroom Mentor

There is no doubt that Gary Dranow is one of the hardest working and most consistent music artists on the planet, so when we heard that he had released a song called, Bedroom Mentor, as part of his current roll out, we were intrigued to say the least.

Establishing the mood with a fierce and industrial electric guitar performance with expanding dimensionality before stripping back to an intimate acoustic rock energy, Gary Dranow opens Bedroom Mentor with the vocal stylings of Klim Apalkov, taking us on a grunge-adjacent journey with introspective depth.

The pre-choruses and choruses are a burst of nu-metal and feature a passionate and thought-provoking delivery from Klim. Gary’s sonic accompaniment and songwriting is simply incredible, and we learn that Bedroom Mentor is designed to pay homage to iconic melodic metal groups like Metallica, in turn creating a powerful connection between rock and metal enthusiasts.

The electric guitar performances are beyond words, and we are once again lulled into a soft rock energy for the second verse before an anthemic crescendo and finale. The track concludes leaving us yearning for more, so just as well it also loops perfectly into itself!

Speaking on his sonic universe, Gary confesses, “Music is not just an art form for us; it’s a journey through life’s highs and lows. Bedroom Mentor is our tribute to musical heroes and a reflection of our battles, crafted with the hope of resonating with everyone who finds solace in music.”

We have added Bedroom Mentor to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions, as well as Astralix.
