Our obsession with Izzy T seems to grow with every listen, so when we heard that the London-based rockstar, originally from Hull, was back with Love 2 Hate U featuring Jennings Couch, we couldn’t wait to listen!
As always, the track showcases Izzy T‘s dimensional sound, with incredible sonic intricacies and a fierce and assertive vocal delivery with super smart lyricism. It combines melodic, pop rock with trap elements, being a hybrid of dark, trappy verses, a juicy power riff and a soaring vocal driven chorus. Jennings’ presence is a great touch, giving a well rounded, full circle perspective for the overarching concept of the track.
Speaking on the release, Izzy T confesses, “Love 2 Hate U is about the addiction we get to the things [and] people that are bad for us, because of the high we get from the thrill of the chase, or the familiarity we already have to an unhealthy relationship.”
The track is already receiving critical acclaim and has been picked up by Radio 1 for Alyx Holcombe‘s Introducing Rock show, and has contributed to gaining Izzy T a support slot at the legendary O2 Academy Islington with Written By Wolves on Nov 16th!
