Kurt Gott reminisces on romantic and evocative new single, I Miss the Nightlife

We previously featured Kurt Gott for his collaborative release with Cary Scope – a moving and intricate ode to the late Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, so when we heard that the star had just released I Miss the Nightlife, we were intrigued to say the least!

I Miss the Nightlife opens with a luscious Americana meets alternative country energy, as Kurt Gott shares situational prose, taking us on an adventure with his narrative.

Speaking on the concept of I Miss the Nightlife, Kurt Gott confesses, “This song is about reflecting back on our younger days and reminiscing about the great times we shared together going out on the town, partying and coming home late at night.” The artist continues with charm, “In particular this is about spending those nights with my girlfriend who eventually became my wife.”

We love the charisma that Kurt exudes with his poetic nuance and the authentic and romantic depth of his intention is tangible. Speaking on his collaborative approach to song creation, Kurt tells us, “This is a solo project, but I was happy to get my long time musician friends and music collaborators to play on this recording. Cary Scope plays drums and bass guitar, Rob Blaney plays banjo and Hammond organ. I played acoustic guitar, piano, electric guitar rhythm and leads and sang lead vocals and all backing vocals.”

The visionary artist continues with confidence, “I believe this to be one of the best songs I’ve ever written and I feel like everyone can relate to a song like this.”

We can certainly relate, and deeply appreciate the journey that Kurt Gott takes us on. He cites Eagles, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, Allman Brothers, Chris Stapleton, Kenney Chesney, and Zack Brown as his influences, although there is no doubt that what Kurt Gott is creating is unique to his own design.

I Miss the Nightlife has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography including Wine From a Dixie Cup from his album, Last Call!
