Kurt Gott and Cary Scope release moving and intricate ode to the late Christine (McVie) of Fleetwood Mac

Setting the tone an elegant guitar soundscape, Kurt Gott opens Christine with situational prose with reference to his muse, “You were a young perfect girl from a Birmingham town, shared your music and gifts and your name, got around… You never needed the spotlight, even though it was on you, you rocked with the best and your talent shone through…”

The opus expands into a meaningful and emotive power pop vibe as Kurt, along with his co-creator Cary Scope, share an ode to the iconic Christine McVie – singer, songwriter and keyboardist Fleetwood Mac. We appreciate the depth and poetic prowess that they convey together.

The rising artist confesses, “This is our way of celebrating the life and legacy of Christine, who touched so many people’s lives with her music. She had the voice of an angel and has always been one of my favorite female vocalists.”

Kurt continues, “My musical partner Cary also felt the same way and after hearing the sad news of her passing on November 30th, 2022 we both decided to collaborate and write our own song for her.”

Speaking on the creative process, Kurt says, “Cary had already written most of the lyrics and asked if I could try writing the music on piano so I gave it a try and in a matter of minutes I had the basic song written. Neither one of us have ever written a song together like this so it was a first time experience.”

We love the essence of the song, and how authentically the pair convey their collective adoration for the late artist. We can only imagine how incredible this would be to experience live, and we learn that “Kurt Gott and Cary Scope perform locally in South Florida as an acoustic duo and we hope to create more together under their duo name Kurt & Cary.

In the meantime, we have added Kurt Gott and Cary Scope‘s Christine to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discographies of both artists!
