I Panic takes us on an energetic and sarcastic ska-punk trip with the Single Edit of Forgot to Tell Me

Setting the tone with a fierce ska-punk soundscape, textured drums and a high octane energy, I Panic opens the Single Edit of Forgot to Tell Me with evocative prose as he sings, “Out of the blue, all became black, my pink glasses shattered, the blues just came back, I thought I was waiting for you to return, but all that’s in vain now, guess I’ll never learn…”

We immediately connect with the cerebral lyricism and the dynamic nature of the opus, described by creator Marcel van Tetering, the mastermind behind I Panic, as “an energetic and sarcastic ska-punk track, with some musical and lyrical twists.”

The journey that we are taken on showcases the artist’s instrumental mastery, with percussion design akin to a psychedelics trip. We appreciate the authentic narrative of the piece and a lyrical highlight is definitely, “You got me hooked, got me caught, got me trapped, karma is just such a bitch to have sent you on my path…”

Speaking frankly on his influences and sound, I Panic says, “You might hear the angry young men of the early 80s, like Joe Jackson & Elvis Costello, you might the energy and delivery like The Clash and Goldfinger, but even some typical harmonies like The Beatles could be heard – and even a musical quote to a Disney movie”, which we love and can feel come though perfectly on the release of the Single Edit of Forgot to Tell Me, but it is clear that I Panic is creating a universe of his own.

We have added the Single Edit of Forgot to Tell Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream I Panic‘s wider discography including Marry You.
