We recently had the honour of featuring Blueburst for his thought-provoking and psychedelic debut – Vanish, so when we heard that the rising star had also released Supernova, we couldn’t wait to experience it and feed back!
Drawing us in with a cerebral guitar, a melodic bassline and a surround sound energy, before exploding into a vibrant and immersive rock soundscape, Blueburst opens Supernova with a fitting soundscape for the name of the opus!
The composition expands with dimensionality and a sense of timelessness, as the artist demonstrates his instrumental mastery, whilst singing, “I want it all, everything that life can throw me, I want to rise and fall, like a flaming rollercoaster…”
Immediately we connect with the message and intention of the piece, to embrace all that life has to offer, and accept the ebbs and flows of reality, whilst understanding that we came to planet Earth to experience lessons and emotions!
The joyous energy is tangible, and the wisdom that Blueburst exhibits is profound and inspiring. Speaking on the essence of the release, the star confesses, “It’s a bit of a paradox, in that it’s a joyful uplifting song that’s about death.” He continues that the message is about the “determination to continue being young in spirit, no matter how long you’ve been around.”
The key changes and power pop harmonies are transcendental, the guitar solo is next level, and the visual concept of the piece is enlightening. Fans of David Bowie will definitely be able to connect with Supernova, although there is no doubt that what Blueburst is creating is unique to his own design.
