Blueburst shares thought-provoking and psychedelic debut single, Vanish

Setting the tone with an immersive guitar performance and elements of psychedelia, Blueburst opens Vanish with metaphorical, yet relatable prose as he delivers the lyrics, “Ride with me, she said, let’s get gone, we’re no good this way, barely hanging on, there’s no pot of gold for sticking out another year…”

The opus expands into a timeless rock energy with elements of 80s post-punk, as creator Craig Douglas Miller, along with the support of Marty Willson-Piper, shares his depth and authenticity on the record. We appreciate the immersive nature of the song, and Blueburst‘s brand of storytelling.

We learn that the project started after Craig Douglas Miller sought out his hero for help in getting musically unstuck. We learn that the pair have since created an album’s worth of original songs, under the moniker Blueburst, which is the name of the finish on Craig’s favourite guitar.

The lyricism is introspective and thought-provoking, guitar solos are naturally out-of-this-world and we love the meditative middle eight which leads to an iconic and explosive finale.

Craig confesses with reference to his “old wave” sound, “Most of my friends, and a lot of younger people as well, still listening to the albums we grew up with. Because there’s a rawness and honesty in that music. That’s what we wanted to capture.”

We love what Craig Douglas Miller and Marty Willson-Piper are creating, and have added Vanish to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Blueburst.
