Death By Drone taps into and expansive and conscious energy with Chrysalis, The Enchantment of Alice, and Drink Me

Earlier this week, we discovered Death By Drone and his immersive and thought-provoking composition, Reflections, so when we checked out the visionary producer’s SoundCloud, we were thrilled to find, Chrysalis, The Enchantment of Alice, and Drink Me.

Setting the tone with a textured tabla performance, astral vocal details and intricate Eastern melodies, expanding with a dimensional synth and sitar riffs, we are immediately hypnotized by Chrysalis. The composition evokes the essence of birth and conscious expansion, in line with the name of the opus.

We appreciate the meditative elements and the evolution of the track towards the finale which give us a rising respite before what feels like a cosmic conclusion, with bell detailing and a high octane tabla.

The Enchantment Of Alice opens with sitar and dhol drums with Indian vocal detailing and a whirring bassline. Bells and a subversive-plucked string tease us whilst the wind draws us in further. A philosophical narration with reference to conscious life. Mid-way though the track, we experience the cosmic chant of the powerful mantra “om maha ganapataye namaha”, which truly touches our soul.

The composition has a cerebral breakdown with more Qawwali style chanting, akin to a psychedelics trip before the narrative conclusion of the song with reference to “space and time”.

Drink Me opens with a bold and rhythmic energy, with a cute flute and electronica-textures as the build enhances with strings, creating a sense of astral urgency. The overall energy generates a sense of ancient-futurism and works as a stunning conclusion to the sonic triptych!
