Skar de Line returns with an evocative and breathtaking visual for his high concept and self-realized single, A Way

By now, you will know that we are huge fans of Skar de Line, having covered the the releases of the epic and orchestral, No Eyes In Paradise, as well as the cinematic and bold, Reset. Last week, when we had the honour of hearing his latest single, A Way, we were blown a-way by the concept (pun intended), and naturally, we couldn’t wait to see the accompanying video!

The song kicks off with a cosmic and cerebral synth with claps and a textured string arrangement, before the visionary artist delivers situational, metaphorical and existential prose. We always love what Skar de Line creates, and the immersive, pulsating energy that he shares.

We can always count on Skar de Line to deliver an expansive pop sound, which showcases his luscious vocal timbre and epic range. We adore his falsetto, and the atmospheric depth he creates with his compositions and narrative-driven songwriting.

A Way is the fourth chapter in Skar de Line’s autobiographical suite of music. We learn that the vulnerable and introspective lyrics are inspired by Skar de Line‘s “real-life experience of witnessing a suicide attempt in which he intervened and save a man from the ledge.”

The artist confesses that at such a pivotal moment, he experienced thoughts that he didn’t expect. He tells us these were “not thoughts of caring, nor positive thoughts, but rather thoughts of deep selfishness.” Skar de Line was simply excited to have a new story to tell. The song and visual address this, which is actually a highly philosophical approach to music creation, and showcases the artist’s self-realized state.

Naturally, A Way comes with an out of this world blue-tinted music video featuring a mesmerizing performance from our protagonist, which sees him in situ on the night in question. The reverse shots are iconic and the story is designed to reflect on how Skar de Line truly felt in that moment, making him question his “core sense of morality, perspective on what is up and down, and ultimately, if there is another way to go.”

We have added A Way to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Skar de Line‘s wider discography and re-watch all of his iconic music videos!
