We have been enjoying the creations of Alec Berlin of late, including his dimensional and intricate composition, LaNoise, and the introspective trip that is Patchen Avenue, so when we heard that he had a uniquely titled new single called Beat Confabulator (All Night On The Floor), taken from the album of the same name, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Immersing us with a luscious, textured cymbal, and intricate guitar soundscape expanding with punchy electric guitar and vibrant melodies which evoke a memory of the 80s, we are immediately in awe of the composition.
Beat Confabulator (All Night On The Floor) boasts a glam rock edge, whilst delivering earworm guitar melodies that have us obsessed with the fierce nature of the opus. We learn that the track includes nods to New Orleans, Prince, and Pat Metheny, and has a more psychedelic vibe as it advances, with an almost futuristic 8-bit energy.
The instrumental performances are simply masterful, something that we have learnt to expect from Alec Berlin! The guitar solos have us on the edge of our seat! It feels empowering and refreshing to experience the soundscape, even though it is laced with nostalgia and timelessness, there is a certain provocative vibe to the piece which lends itself to a futurist frequency.
