Alec Berlin shares dimensional and intricate new composition, LaNoise

Last year, we featured Alec Berlin as he took us on an introspective trip with his intricate single, Patchen Avenue, so when we heard that he had kicked off 2023 with LaNoise, we couldn’t wait to experience it!

Drawing us in with his luscious and dimensional signature guitar soundscape, Alec Berlin opens LaNoise with warmth and intricacy. The guitar performance are naturally out of this world, taking us on a transcendental and somewhat cinematic journey as our imaginations are filled with awe from the depth and grace of Alec’s skillset.

The opus expands into a more playful analogue meets futuristic 8-bit energy, with incredible solos that are evocative, showcasing the immense skill of the visionary composer.

We learn that the piece is inspired by “the familiar grooves of legendary producer Daniel Lanois“, designed to take us “on a trip in comfort and style – all without leaving the comfort of your front porch, your cold beverage, and your favourite guitar.”

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Alec Berlin moved to New York City twenty-five years ago after completing a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Boston’s New England Conservatory. He has played on broadway in Green Day’s American Idiot and has since shared stages with Elton John, James Taylor, Ben Folds, Kenny Wheeler, and Rufus Wainwright to name a few.

We love what he is creating and have added the dimensional LaNoise to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Alec Berlin‘s intricate and expansive discography, including the entire LaNoise EP!
