Jade Moede releases bouncy and conceptual new single, Ooo La La Rachel’s Stuff

Setting the tone with bouncing bass guitar and drum riffs, the enigmatic artist Jade Moede opens his latest release, Ooo La La Rachel’s Stuff.

Ooo La La Rachel’s Stuff is a vibrant and conceptual narrative journey which is dedicated to Rachel Alina, Jade’s music mentor and friend who is a renowned professional mixer and teaches at Berklee School of Music.

This ode to Rachel Alina is a massive compliment, she has a “yoga master mind” and is clearly on the minds of many people who have experienced her energy, after all, “Rachel, got the stuff”. We love the syncopated drums and the additional vocal textures on the track.

Jade Moede is a unique multi-disciplinary artist from New England who has created a nostalgic sound, and this particular piece of artistry reminds us of The Rocky Horror Picture show.

A quote from Jade’s friend AJ Dagger reads, “Jade you singlehandedly bring personality, humour and insight back to music. Like Zappa and Weird Al hosted an orgy and invited all the best musicians around and you were the resulting love child. Great stuff.”

We love the emotion that Jade plays the drums with and the details in the song that really bring the narrative to life.

Speaking on the comedy element of creating the track, Jade recalls, “My dog Bo wanted to get in on the action of the girls singing, he kept on bumping their legs wanting to be petted while singing. It’s fitting because his name is Bo and the song has a BoDiddly sort of Beat, which just is fun and makes you bop.”

When discussing the creation of the track, Jade says, “Well I’ve always enjoyed playing the Bo Diddley sort of drum beat. After messing around and coming up with the counter part sticks on bass drum onto cymbal up beat. The song groove started to come to life… it was infectious and made me smile. The train keeps on rolling down the track.”

When speaking on his influences, Jade cites Queen, the Violent Femmes and laughter, which we can all feel coming through on this record and his wider discography that we have been exploring, including Red and Devil In The Back God Up Front. We have also added Ooo La La Rachel’s Stuff to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
