Our obsession with Watch Me Die Inside grows with every listen. We last featured the project for flipping the script for a new generation with a conscious re-imagining of Johnny O’s Fantasy Girl, so when we heard that sonic pioneer Aleph was back with Elevate, our curiosity was piqued, and we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Elevate opens with timeless piano arpeggios featuring atmospheric sound design. These evolve with an emotional synthscape and cerebral vocals as the opus expands with static guitars and a vocal delivery that reminds us of early 30 Seconds To Mars. We deeply connect with the introspective depth and the poetic prowess of the lyrics.
Delivering the rather important question, “When did the life you chose become a routine you obey?”, Aleph sets the tone for a track that challenges the patterns we fall into without even noticing. The lyrics are designed to explore the tension between simply functioning and actually living.
Aleph asks us to question routines, expectations and structures that can become cages. We love the recurring call to elevate the mind which feels zeitgeist and important, delivered at a time when we, as a species, need to hear it the most. It feels like an invitation to reclaim our own agency. The build into a more visceral energy is epic and truly shows the versatility of the artist.
There is also something interesting about the contrast between the song’s sense of defiance and its darker sonic palette. The piano brings a melancholic quality, while the heavier guitars and electronic textures give the track a more intense, almost dystopian edge.

For some context, Elevate is the lead single from The Luminous Abyss, a three-track EP due on 1 January 2027, with Erebus and Eormen completing the sequence. Based in Cyprus, Aleph is the multi-instrumentalist behind Watch Me Die Inside, an artistic project combining modern metal, electronic architecture, deathcore intensity, black-metal atmosphere and piano-led melancholy.
For sync, Elevate could work particularly well in The Matrix, Fight Club, Blade Runner 2049, Joker, V for Vendetta and The Machinist. On television, we can imagine it fitting into Mr. Robot, Severance, Black Mirror, Westworld and The OA.
Needless to say, we continue to be in awe of what Watch Me Die Inside creates, and have added Elevate to our New Music Spotlight and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we anticipate the upcoming release of The Luminous Abyss!
