Drawing us in with a bold and cosmic organ frequency showcasing a haunting energy and cerebral vocals, Suzy’s Field open Where Do You Go? with seasonal subversion and situational prose. We immediately connect with the playful and dark-funk sonic manifestation.
There is no doubt that the track is perfect for Halloween playlists, but also holds an undeniable cinematic allure. The instrumentation is next level, and the vocal delivery reminds us of early Jamiroquai, Madness, and Space.
We are obsessed with the release’s balance of vintage funk with an eerie edge. The Nile Rodgers-style groove is hypnotic, and the harmonies have the smooth, soulful quality of Michael McDonald. It feels like a lost soundtrack from a strange 1970s late-night television special.
For sync, we can imagine this landing in The Witches of Eastwick, Beetlejuice, Death Becomes Her, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Love Witch or Last Night in Soho. On television, it could fit well in What We Do in the Shadows, Wednesday, American Horror Story: Coven, Why Women Kill or Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

For some background, Suzy’s Field hail from Cork City, Ireland. The band is made up of the three O’Keeffe brothers, younger siblings of actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. They have been releasing music since 2003.
Where Do You Go? was recorded during a residential session at Migration Studios, a converted farm in Gloucestershire, and was shaped by time spent working together, with additional overdubs and mixing completed in home studios.
Needless to say, we are obsessed and have added Where Do You Go? to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the band’s non-Halloween related discography, including Open Mouth, Echoes and Where You Are.
