We previously featured Fiora Anicca for sharing a higher level of consciousness with her important and evocative single, Wild World, so when we found out that Fiora was back with Already Gone, we were curious to say the least and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Already Gone opens with a spiritual and enchanting vocalization call, before expanding with whispered prose and tribal, dimensional drums and percussion with an immersive synth. Fiora shares the words, “A forest breathing, still moonlight, treading softly, she takes flight, whispers calling, her true name, wizened tree, we meet again…”
The song is about a young woman who feels rejected and misunderstood by her village. The sentiment taps into notions of finding comfort, friendship, and a sense of belonging in an ancient tree that reveals the hidden truths about her family and past. Already Gone explores concepts of loneliness, inherited wounds, self-discovery and leaving behind a world that never understood her. In that sense there is a strong parallel with the life that many of us experience today.
There is an undeniable ancient-futurism that manifests. It’s intelligent, tapping into ancestral healing but designed for a futuristic audience that understands a conscious message. We’d love to see Fiora perform this at Medicine Festival, Rooted Festival, and could also imagine a performance at Joshua Tree. The accompanying music video by Steve Pickett brings to life the spiritual energy and visual identity of the track perfectly.
Fans of Björk, Kate Bush, Beth Gibbons, Nessi Gomes and Aurora would be able to connect with Fiora Anicca‘s universe, and we could imagine the song featuring in a TV show like Nine Perfect Strangers, or perhaps PLUR1BUS.

What makes the story behind Already Gone even more fascinating is that it came from a vivid vision that left Fiora wondering whether she was experiencing a memory from a previous life. As she explains, “I can’t know that for certain, but the emotions were incredibly real.” We love that Fiora doesn’t try to explain the experience, but instead turns it into a song that allows us to explore these questions for ourselves.
Beyond her music, Fiora is also a voice guide and facilitator, and is currently studying Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology at Master’s level. Classically trained in opera, she has also rebuilt her voice after developing vocal nodules, which makes her journey as an artist all the more interesting. Her work has received support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, and she has performed across the UK and Poland.
Naturally, we are in awe, and have added Already Gone to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the growing discography of Fiora Anicca, and anticipate future releases.
