Drawing us in with subtle nature sounds and a cosmic frequency tapping into psychedelic notions, SeeD open Wyld Things with cerebral dimensionality and an acoustic guitar riff. There is no doubt that the composition holds a high spiritual quotient and feels like the beginning of an Ayahuasca integration ceremony.
Whispered vocals guide us as the guitar performance builds with dynamism to unveil choral vocals with a folk-adjacency. We experience the lyrics, “Will you join us? Where the wild things are… Will you play will you sing will you dance with us? Get lost in a fairytale… Will you fight will you drink will you cry with us? Get lost in the legends of old…”
We immediately connect with the invitation to escape and the fantastical wonderment that manifests. The flute adds another ethereal element to the opus, whilst the textured drums drive us with momentum and euphoric excitement. There is no doubt that the opus holds a cinematic allure. It is perfect for a sync placement in films like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Stardust, The Green Knight or The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. On television, we could imagine it in The Witcher, Merlin, His Dark Materials, Outlander or Game of Thrones.
The sonic landscape feels like a portal into another dimension. We are encouraged to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with something raw and primal. We could imagine fans of OMNIA, Faun, Wardruna, Clannad and Dead Can Dance connecting with what SeeD have created, and it would be perfect to experience at Medicine Festival or Soul Revolution. The ethereal middle eight and the final moment with the lyrics, “Will you join us?” are almost transcendental.

This ceremonious energy and collective storytelling feels important and rather zeitgeist, delivered at a time when we need it the most as a society. The release date is also worth noting, as it falls in the wake of the new moon in Libra on 11.10.10 (2026) which is also 1111.
We learn that SeeD have spent years developing their own musical universe. They draw inspiration from children’s stories, Celtic mythology, fairytales and the worlds of literature and cinema. Formed by brothers Lars and Koen Van Egmond, the band evolved into a five-piece with the addition of Robin Dekker, Sara Weeda and Irish guitarist Joe Hennon.
Wyld Things has landed ahead of the band’s forthcoming album, expected in 2027. We are excited to see where this journey leads. Needless to say, we have added Wyld Things to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to explore SeeD‘s wider discography, including Goblin’s Pogo, Onwards, and Fae.
