Drawing us in with a dimensional, ethereal soundscape, expanding into a soft-rock, indie-pop adjacency, Euplasia opens Forever Remember with wisdom and poetic prowess as he shares the lyrics, “Look around its all you need, being here now, feeling free, take it in all you can see, living in the moment, what will be will be, I hear the nature calling, I see the water falling, I feel the power of the little things, these are the days that we’ll never replace…”
The overarching message immediately resonates with us. Forever Remember poignantly captures one of those deceptively simple truths that we often forget while navigating everyday life. It’s a reminder that “the good old days” might actually be happening right now. It is about living in the present and removing the anxieties of the past and future to recognise that today’s seemingly ordinary moments can become the memories we would give anything to experience again.
The production certainly has a nostalgic quality, and Euplasia describes the song as “the song Oasis forgot to release”. We could certainly imagine fans of Oasis, Blur, The Verve, Travis, Keane and Coldplay would connect with what Euplasia has created, but there’s also a 60s vibe that comes through reminding us of power pop icons like The Beach Boys.
The intricate guitar work deserves particular attention, with the riffs and melodic layers providing much of the song’s emotional architecture. We could envision Forever Remember finding its way into a coming-of-age film or a nostalgic road-trip sequence. Films such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower, About Time, Sing Street, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Yesterday and The Way, Way Back immediately come to mind. On television, we could imagine it landing a sync placement in Ted Lasso, One Tree Hill, Normal People, The Summer I Turned Pretty or Sex Education.

We particularly appreciate the spiritual dimension of the songwriting. There is no grand manifesto here, instead, Euplasia invites us to reconnect with nature, presence and the little things that we might otherwise overlook. The idea of being here now resonates like a mantra.
The story behind the song makes this even more affecting. Inspired during a family holiday, Euplasia found himself contemplating how moments can become memories before we have even recognised their significance. That idea transforms the title into something more profound. To “forever remember” something, we first have to be present enough to actually experience it.
This philosophy also connects with Euplasia’s wider catalogue. After years devoted to medicine and fatherhood, songwriting became a way of processing the intensity, absurdity and beauty of everyday life, with Romeo Ohio exploring hype and internet culture, Through Your Eyes rediscovering childhood wonder through parenthood, and Algorithm Blues, examining our increasingly complicated relationship with technology and attention. His upcoming debut album, You Wonder, promises to continue that exploration through vulnerable piano ballads, expansive arrangements and vibrant indie-rock moments.
We also appreciate the emotional intelligence behind the songwriting and have added Forever Remember to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Euplasia’s growing discography, and anticipate You Wonder.
