So many of us have been put down, held back, unable to be free. This can apply to humans and animals alike. The metaphorical depth that comes to life is poignant and delivered with a cerebral edge which makes it feel all the more contemporary, designed for a new generation of freedom fighters.
We could imagine the track securing a sync placement in a TV show like Gen V, perhaps in a scene where one of the superheroes in training breaks free, or a movie like Lucy, directed by Luc Besson. Speaking on the release, Twisted Natures confesses, “At its core, Caged Life is about the things that keep us trapped – circumstances, expectations, relationships, fear, or even versions of ourselves that we have outgrown. Rather than remaining in that darkness, the song focuses on the moment something changes: the realization that the cage can be broken.”
