Laced with poetic prowess and intricate production notions, we appreciate the timeless yet futuristic nature of what manifests. Fans of Robyn would absolutely love what Jessie has created, and we could imagine the song being featured in a TV show like Euphoria or Heated Rivalry, or perhaps a movie like Voicemails from Isabelle.
In essence, Wanted is about being someone who always valued independence and avoiding commitment, but unexpectedly falls deeply in love and realizes that the person she never planned for becomes the person they wanted the most. It’s astute, self-aware, and super relatable.
There is a real sense of confidence running through the track, and the mid-tempo groove gives the track an effortless quality. It comes with a captivating portait-style music video that shows who Jessie is as a performer and brings us into her personal universe on a deeper level.
Written by Jessie Altman and Hannah Huntley, Wanted was produced with Sam Hollander (Panic! At The Disco, Fitz and the Tantrums, Train and James TW), with Grant Michaels handling synths, keys and bass guitar, and Oz Noy on guitar. The single arrives ahead of Lovelight, Jessie’s second full-length album, following her debut Aftermath in 2024 and her Sleepwalking EP earlier this year. It also comes after a strong run of live performances, including shows in New York, Washington D.C. and Connecticut.
