His working-class identity and admiration for John Lennon, alongside influences including The Beatles, Oasis, Bruce Springsteen and early Coldplay, all help establish the foundations of his sound.
There is something particularly endearing about the fact that Novo Grey bought his first electric piano at 48 because he simply wanted to learn something new. That sense of curiosity comes through in the music.
