Drawing us in with a textured topper and cerebral percussion details, Bodo Bifroest opens Love We Made with intrigue and dimensionality. The composition expands with a meditative synth and airy hits before we experience an astral flute riff and ethereal, mantra-like vocalizations.
Love We Made is a hypnotic experience tapping into notions of amapiano and cinematic Afro-house. The build of the composition evolves into a cohesive tapestry of sound with a high emotional quotient. We are enthralled by the cosmic melodies that unfold and the lyricism which invites introspection and cognitive connection with the universe and love energy.
The vocal design switch-ups are ingenious and keep us enthralled throughout. We appreciate the meditative moments where the production pulls out and rebuilds, creating ebbs and flows and a peaceful state of mind. The emergence of a piano for the outro is a nice addition that feels grounding with its subtle arpeggios before a final airy riser bringing us full circle to the textured beat.

Thematically, Love We Made serves as a meditation on memory, connection and the permanence of consciousness. It is designed with the idea of inviting us to project our own memories and emotional experiences onto the soundscape. The production is impressive, and we could imagine Love We Made landing a sync placement in a psychedelic TV show like Nine Perfect Strangers or PLUR1BUS. It is also suited to headphones on a solitary night or a long drive. We would also love to see this performed beachside under a full moon at Scorpios in Mykonos or a festival like Tomorrowland or Medicine.
We also appreciate the ethos behind Bodo Bifroest as a completely independent, genre-fluid artist who handles everything from composition and lyrics through to production, mixing, mastering and artwork. His background as an MSc and industrial engineer brings an interesting sense of precision to the emotive project.
Needless to say, we love what Bodo Bifroest is creating, and have added Love We Made to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to explore his wider sonic universe, including Cruising Down the City Light, and Moonride Chill.
