Her cerebral vocal delivery is hypnotic and we appreciate the journey that Noya Sol is taking us on.
The grit is cinematic and gives the track a distinctive identity, especially with the metaphorical lyrics and the hook, “Tried to save my soul… fuck them all…”. We love the guitar solos which are literally transcendental, and the way the production culminates in a dynamic and dimensional tapestry of sound is refined and immersive.
In essence, Sunlight In My Soul is about finding hope after loss. It touches upon the themes of learning to carry one’s own light through life’s darkest moments. The song embraces resilience, healing and moving forward with hope and purpose. In a lot of ways, the track feels super zeitgeist, and perfectly designed for a Gen Z listeners who are finding themselves.
We could imagine Sunlight In My Soul being featured in an episode of True Blood or Breaking Bad, or a movie like the Oscar-winning, One Battle After Another, in a scene featuring Teyana Taylor. There is no doubt that fans of Alabama Shakes and Susan Tedeschi would love what Noya Sol is creating.
For some background, Noya Sol is an independent Israeli singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. She represented Israel at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, and has written, performed, and produced multiple independent releases.
