Speaking on the release, JB says, “Who We Are is about the aftermath of a breakup, where you are laying in your room at night and everything reminds you of that person. Every photo, every shadow in the room brings back memories that make it so difficult to get over the breakup. The song begins by blaming her, then it transitions to me blaming myself. By the end of the song, it is a realization that they both are to blame for the relationship falling apart.”
On his artistry, he adds, “The moment I fell in love with music was the moment I first heard Slash from Guns N’ Roses shred the guitar. I was ten years old at the time, and the opening riff from Welcome to the Jungle inspired me to pick up a guitar. Music became a creative outlet for me. I’m a city boy with a country heart. I’ve never forgotten my Appalachian roots. My goal is to write music that tells stories that everyone can relate to.”
