Establishing the mood with a dimensional drum riff, expanding with elated ad-libs, horns, piano and guitar, Soleil River Nation opens Miami on My Tongue with an uplifting energy and the descriptive prose, “Sun on my skin, sand in my shoes, lip gloss tasting like mango…”
We immediately connect with the vivid imagery and the wider concept of the song, based around the vibrant city of Miami, manifesting with sun, fun and serenity. The instrumentation is perfect for summer, and we could imagine this as a sync placement in a TV show like Jane The Virgin, or Gordita Chronicles.
Fans of early Becky G would absolutely be able to connect with the vibe that comes to life with Miami on My Tongue. The choral chanted ad-libs add dynamism to the piece and the rapped middle eight followed by an epic demonstration of Soleil River Nation‘s epic vocals is awe inspiring.

We learn that Miami on My Tongue is written and performed by 12 year old Miami Beach artist Soleil River Nation. The song has already won first place in the youth division of Elevated Tracks 305, a citywide competition to find an official anthem for Miami. It was chosen through a combination of public voting and a judging panel, and the victory earned Soleil a $10,000 prize!
The song’s success quickly led to major live performances. Following her win, Soleil performed Miami on My Tongue on the FIFA Fan Festival Miami 2026 stage in front of an international audience celebrating the World Cup. Before that, she had already introduced the song during Miami Beach’s Fourth of July celebrations.
We deeply connect with this wholesome love letter to her hometown and how it reflects her experience growing up as a Filipino-American. This certainly explains the mango reference! Needless to say, we are obsessed, and have added Miami on My Tongue to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from the talented Soleil River Nation!
