We could imagine the track in a film like Forbidden Fruits, or a TV show like Elite on Netflix, or Euphoria on HBO. The spoken word moments are sublime and the pulsating energy with hyperpop details is dynamic and captivating.
As for the concept of the song, bush is a playful, tongue in cheek anthem about ignoring online negativity, embracing confidence and living unapologetically. Strascha dismisses obsessive critics, or monitoring spirits, who are unable to look away despite claiming not to be fans.
The rising Bulgarian artist mocks doomscrolling and online drama, whilst instilling the advice to “listen to no haters”, tuning out negativity, laughing at online feuds, and suggests that confidence and self-expression are the best response.
The songwriting is super intelligent, and the playful innuendos give the song a fun, campy feel, making it less of a serious diss track and more of a confident, flirty anthem about enjoying life and ignoring haters. Our favourite line is “grow out thy bush” which is a provocative line serving as a rejection of beauty standards and a celebration of natural self-expression.
