Drawing us in with a dramatic bass synth with cerebral, atmospheric ad-libs begging shawty not to break his heart, and hypnotic repetitions of the title of the track, SPACE3GHXSTX opens Full Metal with cinematic intrigue.
The opus expands with dynamism and pitched, layered vocals as we are taken on a subversive journey by the Boston-based genre-expansive artist. The track taps into notions of trap, alternative pop, hip-hop, and ethereal vibes, whilst the vocal design reminds us of early Kanye West.
As for the message of the song, Full Metal revolves around infatuation, attraction, and emotional vulnerability. SPACE3GHXSTX is captivated by his muse who he describes as someone he first “noticed from a dream”. She is the most attractive person he has ever seen, but he knows that she can break his heart.
We could imagine this in a futuristic remake of a movie like Her, or Lucy, and a scene from a TV show like Gen V, or Elite on Netflix with a scene that parallels the concept. Throughout the verses, SPACE3GHXSTX praises his muse’s confidence and desirability. He compares her to iconic fictional characters like Michael Jackson‘s Dirty Diana, and Daenerys from Game of Thrones.

The concept of Full Metal is the song’s central metaphor. It reflects the idea of being hardened with emotional armour and an intense, futuristic aesthetic. We love the fashion references of Saint Laurent and Moncler and nods to anime and gaming like Fullmetal Alchemist, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and S tier.
Would the track work for a Paris runway show? Absolutely – and equally as the score for a luxury fashion house’s campaign film. It’s trippy and taps into motifs of dark psychedelia that have us in a chokehold.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Full Metal to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of SPACE3GHXSTX, including Duel, Final Form, and Gears of Days Gone.
