We previously featured SoReal for blending cinematic storytelling, conscious rap, and emotional duality on Glass Hearts – Act II, so when we heard that the star was back with Chemical Solutions (ACT III), we couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in his universe once again and share our experience.
Chemical Solutions (ACT III) opens with a high emotional quotient and orchestral synth, expanding with cerebral ad-libs and the lyrics, “Chemical solution, numb the pain, drift away, pills turn the dark nights into a fake bright day, smiling through the struggle, but it’s all illusion, living in a dream of a chemical solution…”
The opus expands with an assertive hip-hop energy with dimensional production as SoReal shares his perspective with high intelligence and poetic prowess. In essence, Chemical Solutions (ACT III) is about emotional overload, identity, and the search for relief from psychological pain. It feels highly zeitgeist as many of us exist in this liminal space and turn to outward solutions to heal our internal pain.
The track serves as the third chapter in SoReal’s Through My Eyes series, and follows the protagonist whose grip on reality begins to unravel as he questions whether clarity, escape, or healing can truly be found amidst emotional turmoil.
Speaking on his influences, SoReal tells us, “This release is influenced by a blend of cinematic composers and modern hip-hop artists who focus on emotional storytelling and atmosphere. On the hip-hop side, artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and Kanye West have influenced the approach to narrative structure, emotional vulnerability, and conceptual album building. Their work demonstrates how rap can extend beyond music into full storytelling experiences. On the cinematic and atmospheric side, composers like Hans Zimmer, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have influenced the tone, layering, and psychological intensity of the sound design.”
The track comes with another epic and cinematic music video which sees SoReal navigate our reality. It reminds us of iconic movies like Lucy and Limitless. SoReal adds, “This release is significant because it deepens the transition from emotional fragmentation to internal confrontation. Unlike traditional music videos, it is designed as a psychological short film where sound and visuals work together to tell a continuous story. Two key moments define this release: the central narrative shift where the protagonist begins questioning the nature of emotional escape and reality itself, and the final progression where tension builds into full psychological dissonance, reflecting the breakdown of perception.”
Needless to say, we continue to be in awe of the project, and have added Chemical Solutions (ACT III) to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the ACT I and ACT II, and anticipate future instalments from the SoReal universe.
