Drawing us in with an emotive and cinematic arrangement of strings, Blimes and Gab open Say That (Orchestral Version) for Planetarium Sessions with a high emotional quotient. The opus expands with dramatic chops and textured drums to introduce the first verse of the song with the metaphorical lyrics, “Yeah contracts on stack like manoeuvre, while I wrote this my lawyer found a loophole, while I wrote this you found an old fruit roll….”
We deeply connect with the fusion of powerful and thought-provoking female rap and a sublime orchestral performance. The visual representation sees the duo in a hangar with the orchestra. The production and genius concept of the orchestral hip hop live session, Planetarium Sessions, are created by Shawn Law Yone Gilad, and features composition and lyrics by Blimes Brixton & Gifted Gab.
The drums are performed by Yahli Ambus, bass by Aidan Neuman, cello by Benz Marston and Sarah Clark, viola by Solomon Leonard and Nic Lampert, and violin by Shawn Law Yone Gilad, Ariel Claire, Brian Cheng, and Amber Daughtry with epic cinematography by Nevo Shirazi.
The song itself is rooted in empowerment and laced with poetic prowess, and to see it brought to life with such a cinematic soundscape is incredible. We could imagine this being featured in the recent Oscar-winning film, One Battle After Another.

Speaking on the inception of the project, Shawn Law Yone Gilad says, “Hip hop and strings have always had one of the strongest cultural connections in music, but I felt like there wasn’t a dedicated live-session platform that really explored that relationship. Planetarium Sessions is about creating a space where fans can hear artists’ songs in a completely new way, find new artists, and be a part of a musical community.”
We learn that Planetarium Sessions has a future vision to film in planetariums, observatories, and other astronomy-inspired venues. It is no surprise that the project has already attracted hundreds of thousands of social media views and caught the attention of producers including Timbaland. Shawn Law Yone Gilad‘s viral “Only Strings” TikTok account has amassed over 15 million views, with arrangements shared by artists such as Rosalía and Lady Gaga.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and will be adding Blimes and Gab open Say That (Orchestral Version) for Planetarium Sessions to our Spotify playlists when the track is released on Spotify, in the meantime, make sure to subscribe to Planetarium Sessions‘s YouTube channel to experience future collaborations!
