Drawing us in with a padded 808 riff, percussion clicks and astral ad-libs with celestial cymbal frequencies, DA-MOVEMENT open 24’s featuring Never of Crucial Conflict & Johnny P with metaphorical depth, poetic prowess and a nod to luxury.
Johnny P opens with his signature yodelling, whilst Qraft delivers the first verse, Pay performs the second verse, with Johnny P providing soulful ad-libs and singing the chorus, and Never closes the track with the final rapid-fire verse.
We experience situational prose about a romantic connection, human instinct, ambition, and an overarching, inspiring sentiment. We love the emergence of cerebral haunting synths, the layered vocals, and the R&B charm that oozes out of the track. There is no doubt that 24’s would be a great fit for a TV show like Beauty in Black on Netflix, in a more light-hearted episode!
The old-school hip-hop remains present, and we could imagine that fans of Biggie, Warren G, Twista, and Dru Hill would be able to connect with what DA-MOVEMENT have created with Never of Crucial Conflict & Johnny P. The horns arrangement is sublime and also reminds us of Kanye West‘s most cinematic album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

The creators describe the track as “a flawless street-soul time capsule”. We also learn that the high production value track features a pristine new 2026 stereo mix by Rae Nimeh of United Technique and cutting-edge Dolby Atmos spatial mastering with immersive 3D (available on Apple Music), engineered by multi-platinum, two times Grammy-winning Mike Tucci, and was built on a foundational track by late Chicago Producer Jason Pamon, serving as a living tribute to his legacy.
Needless to say, we continue to be in awe of what DA-MOVEMENT create with Never of Crucial Conflict & Johnny P, and have added 24’s to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of DA-MOVEMENT, and anticipate future releases!
