We previously featured Keesha Blair as she explored truth and healing on her consciously astute and philosophical single, Truth Always Shows Its Face, so naturally we wanted to dig further through her discography and spotlight Access Declined.
Access Declined opens with a padded kick and astral harmonies with ad-lib vocalizations as Keesha Blair shares the assertive lyrics, “If you don’t know me, then don’t know me, there is nothing that you owe me, but keep that same energy, both in public and privately…”
Once again, the production is spiritually inclined and exceptional. The technology used to create the track has resulted in a flawless sonic execution. The range exhibited by the vocals aligns well with the high vibrational frequency and notions of self-love as Keesha enforces her boundaries.
In essence, Access Declined serves as an anthem of self preservation. The song is about setting firm boundaries after a relationship, friendship, or human connection has ended. Keesha acknowledges her own growth and although the person from her past wants to reconnect on their own terms and timeline, she refuses to reopen the door.
The repeated hook “your access is declined” symbolizes the withdrawal of emotional access and protecting her personal space. It’s empowering, cathartic and sometimes cutting ties is what we need to do to move on.

On a deeper level, the song is about inner peace. Keesha Blair is a self-realized artist and entity who is spiritually evolved. She wishes the other person happiness, success, and love, showing no bitterness, but also makes it clear that goodwill does not require renewed closeness.
By choosing a “new security Divine”, Keesha Blair shows a stronger sense of self-worth, spiritual grounding and emotional protection. Overall, the message is one of forgiveness and kindness, but how they can coexist with firm boundaries.
Keesha tells us, “This record came from a real place of choosing peace. It’s about recognizing when something no longer aligns, and honoring that without chaos, it’s just clarity.”
Naturally, we continue to be in awe of the spiritually enlightened deity, and have added Access Declined to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Keesha Blair.
