Our obsession with DEAN RÖK seems to grow with every listen. We previously featured him when he took us on a cerebral trip with his dimensional, action-packed sophomore single, Bad Wedding Day, so when we found out that Dean was back with Fire & Stars, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
Fire & Stars opens with Dean’s signature anthemic energy as he sings, “Now it must be over, it’s all fire and stars, but if you can’t change my life, I know it’s over…”. We love his self-realized nature, the cinematic allure that manifests with the track, perfect for a stadium as much as it would be a great fit for a film like the Oscar-winning film, One Battle After Another.
We deeply connect with the layered vocals, and the passion that Dean delivers. The brass riffs and bold drums are beyond epic, and fans of Benson Boone, Imagine Dragons and Rag’n’Bone Man would absolutely be able to vibe with what DEAN RÖK is passionately creating. The electric guitar solo is out of this world too, and reminds of us early Queen!

Ultimately, Fire & Stars is about perseverance in the face of life’s struggles. The song explores the tension between hardship and hope. It focuses on the determination to keep moving forwards despite uncertainty, setbacks, or pain. This feels both personal and universally zeitgeist in its message, that resilience, love, and sacrifice can help us all endure difficult times.
On a metaphorical level, the contrast between “fire” and “stars” suggests both struggle and aspiration and feels very astrologically relevant for this weekend’s transition for Jupiter into Leo. We are grateful to how Fire & Stars inspires courage, endurance, and the belief that there is something worth striving for.
We will be adding the track to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, but the song is available NOW via DEAN RÖK’s Bandcamp! You can also join his mailing list and check out his website here!
