Drawing us in with a quintessential, vibrant jazz soundscape featuring saxophone, horns, piano, double bass, and textured drums, Andrei British opens Alien Jazz Girl with a high octane, bold energy and notions of timelessness with an edge.
As much as the soundscape oozes familiarity, the concept of the song with references to a Wookiee, which is a fictional species of tall, intelligent, and fiercely loyal humanoids from the Star Wars franchise taps into notions of futurism and science fiction.
Speaking on the release, Andrei British tells us, “Inspired by the legendary energy of John Williams‘ iconic Cantina Band, Alien Jazz Girl is a retro-futuristic jazz track that imagines the sultry, deeply heartwarming sounds of a distant space cantina.”
The rising artist elaborates that the song is written from the perspective of an alien lounge singer teasing her tough, handsome human boyfriend. Speaking on his muse, Andrei British says, “She might be a little rough around the edges, but she is pure kindness at heart.”

We connect with the poetic prowess, and of course, the quality of the production is technologically flawless. We also appreciate the visual representation of Alien Jazz Girl, who could be played in a movie by Anya Taylor-Joy! The track also holds an undeniable cinematic allure, making it perfect for a sequel of The Mask, or an episode of Battlestar Galactica. The climax of the track and instrumental segue are sublime, whilst the final chorus and instrumental outro leave us yearning for more!
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Alien Jazz Girl to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst watch the music video and continue to stream the wider discography of Andrei British, including South Florida Police, and Florida Girls.
