Establishing the mood with a hypnotic guitar soundscape, expanding with drums and bass into a dimensional rock energy, The Radio Addicts open Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s with the situational lyrics, “I try to stare at you from the back of the room…”
We immediately connect with the timelessness of the track and the relatable prose. We appreciate the cinematic allure that manifests, and we could imagine the track being featured in a film like Clueless, or perhaps the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel TV show, ELLE.
As for the message, the band says, “The verses chart the trials and tribulations of chasing the attention of that special someone and steering clear of the people who are “all full of it” at a chaotic house party.”
The poetic prowess is tangible, and we love the charismatic delivery. The band adds, “Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s [is designed to] capture the chaos and exhilaration of a great night out, particularly like it used to be in the 90s when the craziness of Britpop was in full flow and there were no mobile phone amateur documentarians.”

We can feel that come through, but there is also a clear Americana vibe that comes to life with the track. We learn that Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s was recorded at The Kaiser Chiefs‘ studio, The Nave in Leeds and produced by Andy Hawkins (Maximo Park, The Pigeon Detectives, Flogging Molly and Florentenes), which certainly explains the track’s high production value.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of The Radio Addicts, including Before My Eyes, and Scroll My Life Away.
