We previously featured Hanne Leland when she found her true power with the new self-realization anthem, Love I’m Looking For, so when we heard that Hanne was back with Say It Once More, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with a cosmic vocal synthscape and the lyrics, “I heard your voice in a crowd, cutting through like a knife, stopping me in my tracks, your smile reaches your cosmic eyes, like the waves of the tide, you’re pulling me out…”, Hanne Leland opens Say It Once More with an ethereal pop vibe.
The production and delivery actually tap into notions of 1960s pop with a contemporary twist. The lyrics are hugely relatable and commercially friendly. We could imagine the track being featured in a movie like The People You Meet on Vacation, or a TV show like Knokke Off on Netflix. Fans of Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Robyn would be able to connect with what Hanne Leland is creating.
Speaking on the release, the rising Norwegian star confesses, “Say It Once More is about that person who has this hold over you. You know their words are empty, you know they’re bad news, but somehow you just want to hear them again. There’s something liberating about letting go and just enjoying the ride, even when you know exactly where it’s going. It’s edgy, it’s a little dangerous, and a lot of fun.”

It is no surprise that Hanne’s irresistible songwriting has helped her amass more than 26 million streams across platforms, including over 17 million on Spotify. She has toured internationally alongside artists such as Gavin James, Greyson Chance and All Saints, and earned acclaim from outlets including CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, BBC Radio and Norway’s leading newspapers.
Needless to say, we continue to be in awe of what Hanne Leland is creating, and have added Say It Once More to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Hanne, including Call You Mine, and Everywhere I Go.
